Towards Formal Specification of Provenance Awareness for Web Service Composition
نویسندگان
چکیده
Web service composition is an important topic. Typically, no single service can fulfil all user requirements for a system. Specifying and analysing the non-functional properties (NFPs) is essential to successful service composition. Only where NFPs have been specified, can we choose between services with similar or identical functionality, based on which would better satisfy our non-functional requirements. Specifying NFPs is a complex issue as there are dependencies between them and different factors that influence them (e.g., usage profiles, resources, composition type). Formal models, which can allow precise analysis, are created by abstracting from those factors to determine the relevant concepts for the specification of service NFPs. In this paper we discuss general requirements on specification languages for NFPs of services and their composition. We then specifically discuss our plans for a specification language and analysis technique for provenance awareness.

A model for specification, composition and verification of access control policies and its application to web services
Despite significant advances in the access control domain, requirements of new computational environments like web services still raise new challenges. Lack of appropriate method for specification of access control policies (ACPs), composition, verification and analysis of them have all made the access control in the composition of web services a complicated problem. In this paper, a new indepe...
متن کاملTowards Realizing Dynamic QoS-aware Web Service Composition
In this paper, we identify two major issues related to Web service composition: the lack of formal specifications for services and service compositions and the inability of current service composition approaches to support dynamicity and QoS-awareness in an effective and scalable way. We analyze the underlying research challenges for each of these issues and propose a tentative research plan to...
متن کاملWeb Service Choreography Verification Using Z Formal Specification
Web Service Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) describes and orchestrates the services interactions among multiple participants. WS-CDL verification is essential since the interactions would lead to mismatches. Existing works verify the messages ordering, the flow of messages, and the expected results from collaborations. In this paper, we present a Z specification of WS-CDL. Besides ve...
متن کاملFormal Method in Service Composition in Heath Care Systems
One of the areas with greatest needs having available information at the right moment and with high accuracy is healthcare. Right information at right time saves lives. Healthcare is a vital domain which needs high processing power for high amounts of data. Due to the critical and the special characteristics of these systems, formal methods are used for specification, description and verificati...
متن کاملTowards Formal Verification of Web Service Composition
Correct notation for specifying the composite service alone is not sufficient to guarantee reliability, thus comes a strong demand on modeling and verifying web services composition languages. This paper presented a formal method of web service composition verification based on Petri net. Focus is given on BPEL4WS specification, of which both behavior semantics and communication semantics are c...
